VSP Team

If you’re anything like us, you’ll undoubtedly want to get the most for your hard earned cash – and where the best VPN companies are concerned, it’s a pretty competitive niche in the quest for customers. We’ve explored our fair share of services in our time and although many of them far outshine others, we thought that the best way to get to know what you can expect is to directly compare each service. Here’s a comparison of some of our favorite VPN services (and one that we aren’t too keen on).

IPVanishipv

First of all we have our market leader. This well-rounded provider might not offer the greatest services on all fronts, but it certainly has mastered the services that it does offer. For a start, it has servers available in 60 countries, including the United States, the UK and Australia. The whole purpose of IPVanish is to provide a secure service that doesn’t disclose any information about its users – all backed up by an incredibly affordable price (one of the lowest in fact), and a host of other enjoyable benefits.

The support team are simply fantastic and on hand to help all day, every day. Although 60 country locations might not seem like a lot (and it isn’t when compared to other service providers like Hide My Ass who boast almost 200 countries), it’s fairly safe to say that the servers are amazingly reliable. When choosing IPVanish you will be getting a lot of bang for your buck, and the longer you’re with them, the greater rewards (discounts) you will reap.

ExpressVPNExpressVPN

Now here’s a great client that puts its users first, in one of the most effective ways possible. First of all you have the full support of the 256 bit encryption protocols. This protects users from hacking, as well as acting as a safe guard in the event that data may ever be compromised. There’s literally no end to just how secure the services are, in fact we understand entirely why they’ve become one of the most reliable VPN providers of all time.

It’s not just the security that’s worth writing home about either; the acceptable price of membership (still more expensive than any others listed here) is further complimented by discount offers for loyal customers. Speaking of customers, the support team are simply amazing and can address all issues within a very short timeframe. The country availability for IP addresses is only slightly better than that of IPVanish (totalling 80 as of the end of 2015), but when paired with the sheer reliability of these servers, you have a great service that ticks all of the boxes.

Hide My AssHMA VPN

Here’s a fairly controversial provider and not just because of the unsavoury name that may offend particularly sensitive audiences. If you can overlook the brand however, then you will be greeted by one of the most versatile virtual network providers on the planet. Hide My Ass boast over 860 servers, 120,000 available IP addresses, 100 server locations and 200 countries to access via network three network protocols.

So, how does the cost fair in comparison to our other VPNs? Well, although not the cheapest, the moderate price plans are definitely worth considering if global accessibility is your thing. Hide My Ass might not shine on the financial front, but its strategic server positions more than make up for the cost. If you’re looking for security however, then we’d recommend going elsewhere as the provider actively comply with all EU and US data policies, and will share information if requested.

Vyprvypr server

Speaking of data sharing clients, Vypr is possibly the worst offender that we’ve come across. Not only will users be expected to pay above-market prices for the service, there’s always the concern of authorities piling in for prosecution should you stray too deeply into torrent-circles or other similarly incriminating online areas. When compared to the services above, Vypr is generally considered the last resort – an option only to take if all others are expended.

They’ll actively issue user ‘strikes’, and considering the poor reliability of their servers it’s no wonder why so many complaints have been received. Our experience with them certainly wasn’t worth shouting out about (check our review to learn more), but if you’re looking to browse the web without having your data harvested by advertisement agencies then Vypr may be suitable on that front. Otherwise we’d suggest that you approach it with caution.

Our Final Thoughts

The first three VPNs all offer their very own 30 day money back guarantee, giving you a great way to get introduced to their services, without having to overwhelm finances if you decide that you don’t like what they have on offer. Vypr may not offer this guarantee, but they do feature their own 3 day free trial to take advantage of.

Overall, our personal favorite has to be IPVanish, followed by ExpressVPN and then Hide My Ass. Vypr comes in a distant 4th, but that doesn’t rule it out for those who don’t mind the strict guidelines.
